Overview
DNA Reference Lab, Inc. is a private corporation established in November
of 1997 to pioneer the build-up of the most comprehensive DNA testing
facility in the world. Over the last ten years, the Laboratory used
cutting-edge technologies and effectively provided our medical, forensic,
and paternity testing community with the latest and the most cost-effective
methods in DNA testing. A long the same line of achievement, DRL
has been and will continue to offer services in the following disciplines:

Dr. Salih is the actual
scientific and business
founder of DRL
in 1997. He was
the first to
introduce and implement
the concept of building
up a complete laboratory
DNA
testing facility in
San Antonio, Texas.
In addition to serving
both
medical and forensic
communities at the
local level, the laboratory
is designed to meet
all national and
international
requirements.
Dr.
Salih was able to certify
the laboratory by five
different national/international
accrediting agencies
including College of American
Pathologist (CAP/
CLIA), National Forensic
Science Center
and Technology (NFSTC),
American Association
of Blood Banks
(AABB) and DPS at Austin.
Over the
last ten years, the
lab has achieved national
and international
stratum
by establishing a high
quality DNA testing
facility for the entire
Southwest Texas. Under
the supervision
and leadership
of Dr. Salih,
DRL was involved in
competitive biddings
at
the national and international
levels and was awarded
contracts in both the
medical
and forensic
fields
including a GSA contract
for the
national reduction of
the forensic casework
backlog
in the country.
The laboratory
successfully executed
all governmental and
state awarded contracts.
With over 35 years of experience
in laboratory analysis,
Dr Salih was able
to muster more
than 21 years in the application
of molecular biology
and genetic engineering
technologies for human
welfare. Dr. Salih
has a strong medical
diagnostic
background and outstanding
scientific contributions
attesting to this fact.
Further, over the last
10 years, Dr.
Salih work was
focused
on parentage
testing and forensic casework
analysis
through scientific contributions,
implementation of laboratory
procedures and expert
court testimony.
Dr. Salih served as an
expert witness for both
prosecutors
and defense
attorneys in several
DNA cases as relates to
capital murder, sexual
assaults, rape, child molestations,
aggravated
assaults and robbery. Some

1. Introduction of cloning
and re-sequence analysis
in courts
of law for the first
time in the world.
The case has been challenged
twice
and the opinions cited
were affirmed by an appeal
court
in Texas (2001).
